A very good friend gave Kris a car. She had hand controls installed in it so that she would be able to drive again.
May 2000 - Kris with her 'new' car. After having some work done on the car, and some parts replaced to make sure it was in good driving condition, Kris began driving back and forth to the Shepherd Center by herself, where she does volunteer work twice a week, feeding patients that don't have use of their hands, visiting with any of the patients that just need company, and she also works in the Gift Shop one afternoon each week.
Oh yes, Kris and Jim still go hunting. They also
go on the Shepherd Center outings, where she has been hunting, fishing, driving a jet-runner, water skiing, scuba diving, horseback riding, and dancing. Of course, there are always plenty of assistants with her, or nearby.

ASW - May 20th - after lunch, drove a jet runner.
ASW - May 20th - learned how to scuba dive in the pool.
ASW - May 20th - horseback riding in the evening after supper.
ASW - Alabama - May 21st - Kris with Jim, her constant companion and "partner" getting ready to go home. Jim is always there to help, and takes lots and lots of pictures. She is now taking fencing lessons at Shepherd Center, and has been asked to be a part of the fencing team in competitions, for the disabled.
Kris is truly an amazing lady. She is an encouragement to everyone that is ever around her. No one is ever a stranger to her. She talks to everybody she sees. I know God will reward her greatly someday for all the kindness, love and help that she gives.

It isn't unusual to see a picture of Kris or an article about her in magazines.
